discrimination

Despite the heavy sounding title and the fact that that's actually what I'm talking about, it's not what you think at all. So there.

Anywho, people go on and one about how we humans are so-- Y'know, I'm not even going to get into that. I just wanted to post that I think people are highly discriminatory against nature.

Not just in the way that probably first lept to your minds, in that any poor critter that isn't the cutest of the cute, and sometimes not even then, is viciously abused by mean ol' humanity. Nor do I mean to drag in the entire Save the Rainforests, thing either.

I was just planning to say that people basically will NOT just take their time to look everything over and quietly savor things unless the things to be savored make a big stink about it. Number one thing that prompted me to come to this conclusion? Storms.

How many people do you know who get silly smiles on their faces and say 'Oh I love the rain, I love the thunder, I love storms' and all that good stuff? I bet about 4/5s of my friends, RL or online, would say the same. But after observing one fine specimen of such a thing I have concluded that this is only because of the big fuss storms make.

They flash lights at you, and if you happen to be blind they have accompanying noises in the form of thunder and the sound of rain. For the deafmutes it's just like being suddenly assaulted with cold water, plus they can probably feel the shockwaves and all that good stuff.

How many people would say they're favorite nature-related thing to do is just go sit on a rock and watch the squirrels? (People who know me: I don't count in this situation. >.>)

Exactly. My non-point has been made. Or not. It's awfully la-rly and I just don't feel like putting that much coherency in here.

~ I would like to add I'm also completely astounded that after running the little spellchekcer it only highlighted la-rly, which is should know is a combination of late and early used by those with awful sleep schedules.
